What does that look like through ARF-TX?

Every year, millions of companion animals are euthanized in animal shelters across the United States. Tragically, Texas consistently ranks number one in the nation for the highest number of shelter deaths. These high euthanasia rates are driven by a massive stray pet population, severe shelter capacity constraints, and unchecked pet overpopulation.

ARF-TX is working diligently in Guadalupe County to change these statistics by educating our citizens and providing vital shelter diversion services. We utilize community donations to directly fund and support:

• Free Monthly Community Pet Education Programs to empower owners with the knowledge, training tips, and care tools needed to prevent behavioral and care-based surrenders.

• Low-cost spay and neuter services to reduce accidental litters.

• Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) programs for community cats.

• Free pet microchipping events to help ensure lost pets find their way home.

• Low-cost pet vaccination clinics to keep local pets healthy.

• Free pet food distribution to support families facing financial hardship so they don't have to surrender their beloved pets.
